Flute - French Horn

I started my music lessons during my time at Kirk Merrington Primary School and commenced on the Tenor Horn moving swiftly to the French Horn. I continued the study of the French Horn throughout my time at Tudhoe Grange Comprehensive School and throughout my time at Barnard Castle School as a Music Scholar. It was during my time at Barnard Castle School where I advanced on my three main instruments of French Horn, Flute/ Piccolo and Piano. By the time I had left Barnard Castle School I had passed Grade VIII on all instruments and also obtained various Diplomas in each instrument. Before completing my A Levels I held the position of Principal Horn in the Young Sinfonia, the junior group to the acclaimed Northern Sinfonia. Despite attending Barnard Castle School I continued during my sixth form years to play for the County Durham Youth Orchestra as Principal Horn and have also performed with the Durham County Wind Ensemble. I graduated in 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Law (LL.B (Hons)) from the University of Durham and have also been awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2007 (PG.Dip) and Masters Degree in Law (LL.M) in 2008 from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle. During my time at the University of Durham I continued to actively participate as a soloist and orchestral player and have held the position of Principal Horn in the Durham University Symphony Orchestra (2003 - 2004) and Principal Flute of the Durham University Chamber Orchestra (2003 - 2004). During this time I performed widely across the North of England at various venues including the Bowes Museum, Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle to name a few venues and have played abroad in Italy and France. I was introduced to Antonina Lax in 2007 and we performed our first concert together at the Music School of the University of Durham. Following this concert we established MUSICA AMATA and have been enjoying playing music together ever since then and have performed in numerous successful concerts. I have been admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and also teach as part of my active musical life when I can find the time.
